QUESTIONS TO ASK YOURSELF IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING RELOCATION
- How much do you know about the area you are looking to move too?
- Have you considered the costs of living in the new location?
- Have you any family/friends near by who could be a support?
- What are the travel links like? Look at both bus and train as well as commuting distance particularly if you are going to travel at weekends to see family, partner, etc.
- Have you discussed moving with your family? Will your partner need to change jobs?
- What kind of social benefits are there in the new location?
- Will you rent or buy? Will you keep your current home or sell up completely?
There are no right or wrong answers, however these questions should get you thinking about relocation before accepting a role where you will have to move away.
